The Transcendental Object at the Center of Creation

breaking free Looking back on 60-odd years, I notice I've made it my business to follow some of the latest discoveries and trends in consciousness. It's more of a spiritual practice, actually, and allows a "quantum of solace" outside the normal noisy racket of my life. And every once in a while, I get a flash of insight about what this universe actually is, my place in it, and what life really means. Not to say I personally had any original thoughts in this field--just that every once in a while, I'm able to poke my head behind the curtain and see what's going on--or at least take a stab at describing what's going on.

My first real glimpse into cosmic discovery came about in a cliché way back in 1971 during a psychedelic experience. The gateway was "Orange Sunshine", and the experience was: "I saw what god was". I couldn't talk about the experience for years, but I've thought about it for over 40 years, and boiled it down to levels of consciousness, and among those, God Consciousness. This is something we all have access to (without taking psychedelics), it's just that our mundane aculturation, social training and--dare I say--American-style dismay with spiritual pursuits, puts us at a disadvantage when it comes to experiencing altered states of consciousness.

The thing about this first touch of god was, it terrified me. I mean it really scared the bejesus (pardon the pun) out of me. To the point where I was sort of stunned spiritually, where I couldn't even read a spiritual book or talk metaphysics for a few years after that.

But, as life paths go, I was returned to consciousness research from none other than my paternal granddad, a Baptist Minister by training, and a proud Irishman by birth. He gave me Teilhard de Chardin's The Phenomenon of Man, a pretty heavy read for a 20-year old--for anyone, any age, actually--and it pulled me out of my terror of my god encounter into an intellectual pursuit of proofs of god. This is a revered practice among Christian mystics, and I realized that under my granddad's jolly jokester Irishman act lay a true philosopher of magnitude. At any rate, I plowed through this dense tome a couple of times, and came away with a more rational view of what had happened to me that fateful night at the hippy dance.

De Chardin puts forth a series of thought experiments that bring you to unavoidable conclusions about the existence of god. He summarized that we are all "gods" in our own right (near blasphemy for his day), and that by merging into this universal consciousness, we all can have this divine experience.

Fast forward a few decades, and I was at a local ski resort on a two-night weekend gig with a band, and Sunday afternoon I was minding my own business eating a sandwich at the club where we were performing, and suddenly found myself looking at something in my mind that took me aback. It was a single sphere sitting there in my mind, much like the monolith in "2001: A Space Odyssey". I was like the apes jumping around trying to figure out why it was even there. And then came a thought: The entire universe emanates from this particle. Hummmm... OK. It just seemed to make sense, without any explanation--a self-evident display.

Fast forward another few years to Terence McKenna's "Time Wave Zero" theory, and we hear that there's a sort of transcendental object at the end of time, and that everything happening back from this "object" is a reflection and expression of that object. Time flows into this Transcendence like a vortex of water flowing down a drain, and it is entirely made of thought. This theory was enhanced by Kurzweil's Singularity--where all consciousness is moving toward a single point of universal thought.

THEN, a couple of scientists recently took the leap and mathematically proved that there is, indeed, one object from which the entire hologram of the universe emanates, and that it is a double tetrahedron (such as representations of the Star of David and the Sri Yantra). This accounts for all geometries, from spiraling galaxies to the double helix of DNA.

Grimms THEN, last night... I was watching the final episode of "Grimm", where our hero, Nick Burhardt, battles the ultimate evil only to watch in horror as all of those he loved are murdered by it. And just when poor Nick is about to give up and hand over the key to universal destruction to the evil guy, he is visited by his deceased mother and aunt--both powerful Grimm shamans--and together they defeat the evil, sending our hero back in time to when everyone he loves is back together again. His mother said, "The power of blood--the blood of you and all your ancestors--are more powerful than any evil."

The take away for me was that we all have within our own Being access to all the power, knowledge and love in the Universe, and it is ONLY a matter of Being Who We Truly Are. We are all not only Children of God, but also the Father of those children, having our Being in cosmic love and trust that everything there is, is who we are: The Transcendental Object at the center of Creation.

Not Having It

For those of you dabbling in the Art of Manifesting, or those of you who are deeply committed to a life of light and energy as the primary drivers of your experience, I'd like to address the illusion of what I call "time drag". Time drag is the apparent passage of time from the moment we imagine the fulfillment of a desire and the "realization" of it. It is, probably, the most vexing, and most misunderstood of physical phenomenon for the would-be creator.

I call this time drag effect an illusion because time itself is a construct of the mind. We agree to this linear cause-and-effect passage of events as a tool to observe our creations, and to make cultural sense of our place in the world. Both of these constructs must be completely arbitrary, because each of us come from different cultural/social beginnings, and the scientific fact that time itself is a construct of the mind. Yet, we are habituated to a certain "rate", or "the way that things get done", or a narrow band of possible ways things come into being. These extremely limiting beliefs create the time between our desires and the actualization of them.

It's been shown in those pesky quantum physics experiments that quantum particles can "jump" into the future, or the past, and can co-exist in both, as well as exist in multiple points in space simultaneously. This all leads physicists to conclude that "linear time" does not exist, and that in reality, on a cosmic scale, everything is happening at once.

I bring this up in the way of de-constructing our expectations of how our desires must come into being. In the ancient shamanic tradition, it is taboo to assign any causative events to a desire. In other words, once you've chosen an outcome or imagined a desire fulfilled, you must not try to figure out how to make it happen. It is the rawest of conundrums in the manifestation game. The point is, once you've chosen a desired outcome, it is the universe's job to bring about its fruition. Now, 99% of what we are experiencing in the manifested world is a subconscious creation. We are making the sun shine, we are rotating the planet, we are circling the galactic center--all subconsciously--so we are not "figuring out" how to do these things. We are doing them automatically as an integral part of living in this dimension. This subconscious creating we're doing is "The Other"--our partner in conscious creating.

If we get all tangled up in the "how" and "where" and "when", we short-circuit the subconscious creator by creating a microscopically narrow set of possibilities from which it can create. This is what I call "time pollution". We feel like after sitting with our desires unfilled, the world seems to remain stationary, as we twiddle our thumbs, continually looking at the clock.

What has happened is that our attention jumped out of the imagination--the source of conscious creation--and got stuck on the outward manifested effects that are not our desired outcome. In other words, we hang up on the "not having it", when we ought to be focussed intently on the direct having of it within the imagination. The subconscious Other is already clothing our imaginal desires in physical reality, as long as we let it do its job.

So what to do when we catch ourselves "figuring out" how to "make happen" these desires of ours? Stop, engage the imagination, and re-enter the Land of Desires Fulfilled with all our senses. This keeps the short-circuiting of The Other from happening so much, and gives us a nice, energetic retreat from which to observe the unfoldment of what we are imagining. We perceive and live in the fulfillment of our desires. That's our job. Just that. Yes, go about your daily activities in the manifested world, but stay in the Land of Creation that is the imagination. You may find there are tasks that come up in the manifestd world that do relate directly to the appearance of our desires fulfilled. Rejoice! Things are getting there. (PODCAST: Neville on Imagination as Creator)

The great dynamo of our dualistic universe is the nothing-to-something engine. This engine has infinite power, and can create anything we can imagine and beyond. It is ONLY our limiting beliefs about the "outside world", and narrow opinions of what is possible in that world that prevents the immediate manifestation of our choices. We directly engage this dynamo in the imagination as we see, hear, smell, and feel our desires fulfilled.

Suspending Belief

Albert Einstein famously asked the question, "Does the moon disappear if you are not looking at it?" And, there is the well-known philosophical condundrum, "If a tree falls in the forest and there is no one to hear it, does it still make a sound?" Both of these questions have been definitively answered within the realm of quantum physics, and the answer is a resounding, "NO".

Flying in the face of Einstein's "Objective Realism" and Newton's "Laws", what scientists are coming around to is that what has been counted on to be solid, objective reality, is in fact, anything but. Essentially, the world we live in is not much more than a construct of beliefs. We believe the moon is in the sky because everyone else believes it to be true. The Hubble telescope zooms in on far distant galaxies that we believe are objectively real. The startling truth is that those galaxies are just as ephemeral and illusionary as the sound of that tree falling the forest.

As humans, with our highly specific perceptions observed through very specific wavelengths of light, sound and smell, we comprehend our universe through stacks upon stacks of agreements, judgements, conclusions and beliefs. This is the furry underbelly truth of the world, regardless of how "real" it all seems with all those hard surfaces, very "real" threats to survival, perishible foods and bodies, not to mention the inexhorable passage of what we have agreed to as "time".

As an interesting and vital side note, scientists have also proven that time is an illusion, and that from a cosmic perspective, everything is actually all happening at once. Our human brain (with its 11 dimensional wiring), presents perceptions as a linear march of various "events". The "events" are actually simply arbitrary conglomerations of stuff that have been related together to form various types and flavors of "reality".

So now, have I de-constructed your reality enough? I do so to make my point: We are unwitting, unconscious, creators of the lives we live--all the way from galaxy clusters down to the simplest bacteria. It's all there because we agreed to create it all with all these other points of view we perceive as "others". (In truth, we are all one Creator, doing our things from different points of view).

The task--or trick--is to regain our denied consciousness to such a degree that the world we experience reflects accurately our desires and visions. As biologist, Dr. Bruce Lipton, has pointed out, 97-99 percent of what we are creating is unconscious, emanating from the subconscious mind.

The subconscious mind is what is plugged into and deeply interfaced with the meta-program that is running like an immense digital Star Trek holodeck. This subconscious mind is mostly overlooked as a source of the majority of our creation. In fact, despite the immensity of what it creates, this giant subconscious mind is very simply programmed like any garden variety computer--with on-off switches. This is way different from the conscious mind, which needs to make associations and create relationships among things in order to learn.

The subconscious is programmed by the repetition of "yes" and "no". That's all. We can consciously repeat a desire or preference until it builds up enough of a field in the subconscious, and, boom, it actualizes that desire or preference. We can create change in our body, our attitudes, our relationships, just by repeating with feeling the change we want to see created. All of this takes place in the imagination, and the fuel that feeds the subconscious is feeling. Consciously create the feelings of what it is you want to experience, add some patience over time, and, bang, there you have it.

It's all a matter of suspending our beliefs against all of this, in order to make it real. The cosmic irony is that beliefs created this world we are in--and suspending those beliefs is what opens up the infinite possiblities we all have access to, to create the life we truly desire.

The Discomfort Zone

I was watching a dear friend and teacher recently speak on a Facebook Live broadcast about how change is not comfortable, and about how we are using that as an excuse not to change.

Well... my dear friend, I have to disagree on a couple of finer points:

1. The reason most people need and desire change is because their comfort zones are no longer comfortable.

2. When the change one is seeking begins to happen, we feel excitement--not discomfort.

She also spoke about how the process of changing steers one through all the barriers, reasons, sensations and blockages that are holding the particular condition or situation we wanted to change in place. It's true that all of this unraveling can temporarily feel like things are "falling apart", or "caving in", however, if the intention was to change, this unraveling is the evidence validating the intention to change, so why not celebrate it?

Yes, we can definitely lose track of all the changes we have desired, so that all this "falling apart" seems dangerous or distressing--and if we go into being the victim, we risk the nullification of our intention to change.

In fact, most desire to change revolves around finding a comfort zone, where life comes to us with ease and joy, and we are free to express ourselves creatively, experience the world as a loving place, and where future changes are joyful and generative.

I would hazard a guess that the meme, "Change is uncomfortable" is really just an arbitrary point of view that ignores the mechanics of how things work in this magical 3-D world we've constructed. The bottom line is that the higher more generative life we seek change for, is, in fact, the truer reflection of who we really are. And to make that change, we have simply to focus our intent on that version of ourselve already existing as a parallel reality.

I would also profer the view that what drives most change is discomfort or pain of some level, and that it is impossible to change from an alleged "comfort zone". If we are truly in this theoretical comfort zone, why would we want to change from that?

On the other hand, why experience discomfort at all in a "comfort zone"? How about just choosing something different--perhaps with more magic, excitement and incredibleness?

If instead, we are suffering or prolonging discomfort, how about changing the current situation or condition by tuning in to the higher version of yourself, and sending out the intention to become that? More joy, more ease, more fulfullment, more amazing-ness. Then, be willing to experience whatever the universe presents to us as experience in the unfoldment of that version of yourself wherever it may lead.

I would also venture to make the observation that behind all discomfort and pain is the desire for that higher version of your life, and that any pain or discomfort we are experiencing is us in the process of actualizing that higher life. It's the perception that life is victimizing us that prolongs the discomfort, pain and suffering, and potentially completely blocks any change.

So switch it up. Be the creator. Spot where the victim is, and simply say "bye bye". Then go to where the ease and joy is that will demonstrate to the Universe--your co-creative partner--that you are onboard with realizing the greatest life you can experience, and that you are willing to go beyond that. Continually broadcast that vibration of ease, love and joy, and tune in to that same broadcast emanating from the Ultimate You right next door. Enjoy the ride, and enjoy arriving at your new comfort zone!

Be the Magician

tiny flowers One of the most basic skills in magic is to entrain the audience into suspending their disbelief of their own senses. If the audience no longer disbelieves what they are seeing, what you do as a magician seems like real magic. The trick is to convert the skepticism of disbelief into the wonder of true believing.

And this is how we actually create our lives. We become true believers of our own magic. We don't like a certain situation, or we want to change what we are experiencing in our lives, so we reach out with a new vision of how we want our lives to be, and refuse to disbelieve when things are slow to change or barriers and apparent obstacles block our choice to change.

Last week I had an experience with the crowdfunding app, GoFundMe. I had made a choice that I was going to raise the money for my cause, no matter how long it took, or what I had to do to make that choice come true. I thoroughly suspended my own skepticism about fundraising and "other people's intentions"--all the reasons that prevented me from using the service in the past. And with that mindset, lo and behold, it only took 48 hours to achieve my GoFundMe goal. In retrospect, it did seem like magic. In fact, many of the partcipants in the fundraiser were surprised how fast everyone chipped in.

My guru/coach said something that got me going on this: "The energy of wonder--the amazement of creation--is one of the most attractive qualities you can show the Universe. The intelligence of the particles and waves swirling around you, are just waiting for you to want something amazing they can be a part of."

Most of us have had the experience of deciding to accomplish a project or get something done, then sitting down with pen and paper to write down all the plans necessary to bring the project to fruition. We list out all the steps that we can see from the perspective of not having the project completed. We then proceed to trudge through the steps, one by one, and then realize a lot of the steps have to be revised, or new steps added, and after a while it seems overwhelming.

Of course, the problem started when we wrote down the steps we thought we needed to do. That's a problem because it was done from the viewpoint of not having what it is you're shooting for. In fact, a very wise person told me once, "It's not your job to figure out how to get something done. That's the Universe's job."

All we need to do is put the vision out there and suspend our own disbelief about it happening. The fact is, as creators, once the vision is released it IS existing within the quantum energetic structure of the subtle energy fields permeating us all. And, these subtle energies are independent of space and time and instantaneously connected to all particles and waves in the entire Universe. They are, literally, the MAGIC of life.

We can just as easily spontaneously STOP everything by disbelieving. If you don't believe in your own creation, then the intelligences of the particles and waves in the subtle energy field of your life, won't believe them either, and nothing changes.

So, as the magicians of our own life, we must entrain our monkey minds to be true believers in what we are creating. And in doing so, wha-la! Magic.

The Quantum Impossibility of Aloneness

interconnection We are at a pivotal time in human history. Science is in the process of proving that there is a single matrix within which all things are affected by all other things. There are hypotheses that what is called "quantum entanglement" is not just for the smallest of of the small, but that it is a central feature of ALL the physical world.

Let's sit with that for a second... The butterfly flaps its wings and volcanoes erupt on the opposite side of the planet; a fly is caught in a spider's web, and half a world away, a quarter mile of glacier calves into the sea; a wolf howls in Alaska, and a geyser erupts in Borneo. These images convey the oneness of a whole system--a system with an infinite number of moving parts, yet each part holographically existing as part of each other part.

Science experiments have been underway to verify that what we used to think of as mechanistic, unconnected, random events are, in fact, very much connected. And we, as points of conscious awareness, have the ability--as do all living things--to tune in and experience any and all of it.

After working for a while with these concepts, it's certainly not a stretch to see the world as a sentient being, reacting to and reflecting back to us our own intentions, feelings, and desires. It is ONLY our choices, decisions, judgments and conclusions that make life seem so distant, so disconnected from us, and so completely reliant on the application of our personal energies for anything to change.

frustration Of course, the universe is nothing BUT change, each quantum bit, subatomic particle wave, atom and molecule has a purpose, an intelligence that is moving to our beckon call, should we desire it.

As psychologically complicated as we like to think we are, we are experts at making life a problem--a hell hole of pain and suffering--where nothing goes the way we want it to, and misery is the over-arching theme of this gawd-awful cesspool of life. With each new tragedy and drama, further proof is set forth about the "TRUTH" of this.

We are, simply, excellent victims. It's so much easier that way. You can avoid responsibility for creating anything, and then get to wallow in sumptuous self-pity until the cows come home--and they, tragically, never do.

The point I want to get to is that we are not islands. We are not separate "points of light" scattered across the void. The "void" is very much an ocean of connectivity, communion and consciousness. Our very atomic structure is intermingled with that of exploding stars, whirling galaxies and all the sentience that created it.

It becomes nearly impossible to feel alone if you embrace these concepts. In fact, do this thought experiment: Close your eyes. Now, in your imagination, imagine another being is sitting next to you. It can be somebody you know, or not, and they don't have to be human. Now, ask this being some questions, such as, What's your name? Where do you live? Do you know who I am? What is you main talent? What do you see that I'm really good at?

Shortly, you'll realize you've been having a conversation with this "imaginary friend", and notice that you didn't know the answers to the questions you were asking them--they did. This being exists .

You've probably heard about people having "guides" or "angels" that show up at crucial moments in a person's life to help make a pivotal decision or bring about a revelation. Well, this is how you can find your own guides. Just "imagine" them beside you, and begin to have a relationship with them.

guide There have been theories tossed around that the imagination is really a sort of clearing house, where our desires meet the sentience of the physical world. That sentience is constantly engaged in partnering with you to construct your life based on your desires, conclusions and judgments. I tend to agree (and this has been posited by some scientists) that the sentience of the physical world is amoral--that is, it has no judgment as to what is "right" and "wrong". It's humans that are excellent at doing that, and we do it almost automatically. Why? To make a story. To show ourselves how good or bad we are, and thus, create the matrix for games and adventures, either sorrowful or exciting.

So, choose to embrace this Oneness of Life. Reach out for it, interact with it, experience its deep sentience and observe it responding and reacting to your intentions and desires. Soon you will discover the perfect partner you never thought you had--the most intimate confidant; the most empowering coach, and deeply loving lover. And all it has ever taken--all it ever takes--is making that choice.
